Q

Disadvantages of Photograph

A

. Photographs are subjective and can be biased

. The reasons for this is is that the photographer can choose the time of day, angle of photo, what weather to take the photo in.

.The photograph will be biased and subjective as he will have a reason for taking the photo. For example, he might try to promote an area. If he wants to promote an area, he will be biased and subjective by taking the photo in times of the day where it is not busy

. For example, the majority of Kinkaku Ji photos in Japan perceive and represent the as peaceful and quiet. However, in reality the place is very busy and noisy. The photographer has been subjective and the perception of place has been manipulated by choosing to take the photo early in the morning when it is not quiet

This could make outsiders have a false sense of place.

. Additionally, the perception of a place can be easily manipulated through photoshop. This provides a false sense of place to outsiders of a place, who get their sense of place through media sources such as social media and newspapers.
