Tnav Flashcards
How many satellites can each MMR/EGI track?
12
Which components does the MRI/EGI use information from to estimate the aircraft state?
INU, GPS, DRVS Doppler , HADS, and the MP
From which page is the manual primary INU selection made?
TSD- UTIL
What is the function of the DRVS in the NAV system?
The Doppler is used purely as a velocity sensor and does not provide in any way a NAV capability of its own
When does the altitude lo audio activate
Based on altitude lo setting,
1-10 ft audio upon reaching altitude
11-999 ft at 10% below setting
1000-20,000 ft audio at 100 ft below
Which page should you select in order to set hi & lo altitude?
Flight set
How does the Doppler calculate radar altimeter setting?
Provides aircraft referenced ground velocities
What does the TSD stand for and what is its purpose?
Correlates navigation and battle management (attack) information on a single display
The TSD correlates what two types of information on a single display?
nav and battle management (atk)
What do the boxed selections indicate when the NAV and ATK SHOW pages are initially selected?
Default settings
Which show pages have separate NAV and ATK selections?
Top level show, coord show
The EGI’s position confidence value on the TSD UTIL page provides what?
A 95% radial error estimate, in meters, of how good the EGI’s present position is
Which page displays the EGI satellite tracking information to the aircrew?
TSD- UTIL
Name the two ways the crew can get to the abbreviations page
TSD - UTIL then abr
TSD - POINT then abr
Can the NAV Fly to cue be turned off on the flight page?
No, only selectable for the HDU
What page can the crew go to in order to remove the NAV Fly-to cue from the HDU?
TSD- SHOW- HMD SHOW- deselect
What are the satellite tracking options & Doppler info for the EGI’s?
P: # correlated precision satellites each EGI is tracking
S: # standard satellites
N: # non - correlated satellites
D: check mark indicated EGI is using Doppler
HAE
Height above ellipsoid
The mean altitudes around the earth to create an average earth height at any given point
what are the types of user points, and what slots do they fill?
waypoints & hazards: 1-50
control measures: 51-99
Shared area: 100-950 (can be split into 8 sections for the 8 primary members)
targets 951-1000 (numbered starting at T01)
The TSD pop-up menu will be opened by selecting what type of points?
waypoints, hazards, control measures, targets, SA icons, DAFIF icons
SA information arrives via what?
IDM through blue force tracker
in order to receive SA icons what are the two criteria?
Must be logged in AND tuned into Tactical Internet
what selections can freeze the map?
BAM, CAQ, FRZ (and PAN)
what information is displayed in the next WP status window?
Fly-to point name, distance to fly-to, ground speed, time till arrival based on current ground speed
What types of map options does the TYPE button present?
DIG, TAC CHART, SAT, CIV CHART, STICK(always available)
What is DTED? and what are the levels?
Digital terrain elevation data
0: 1km apart
1: 100m apart
2: 30m apart
When GRID lines button is on, what is the number in the top right corner?
Grid status window displays the size of each grid
3 types of orientation, and which is default
Track up- default
Heading up
North up
What does the gray screen with black cross pattern area of the map indicate?
Map not available, no map is loaded on the RMM
The add button allows what type of points to be created?
Wp, hz, cm, tg, mk (user points)
After adding a point, what does pressing IDENT do?
Further defines the version of each type, can add additional information
Abr, free text, location, altitude
If no additional information is added using IDENT what is the default altitude and location?
Altitude: DTED information, if no DTED info present, then based on PP
Present position
What types of points can be stored?
Wp, hz, cm, tg, mk
What is an identifier?
Two letter from abbreviations page that will further identify a coordinate point beyond type
What process allows the crewmember to change the IDENT as desired?
EDIT
Three methods to complete waypoint store must be initiated from which page?
TSD, POINT, STORE,TYPE WP
If no information is entered via the keyboard when creating or editing a point, what info will be entered?
What ever info is displayed at the L1 is automatically accepted by the database
How many points and what type of points can a route hold?
May contain up to 400 points made of WP, HZ, CM, TG, DAFIF
What is the ADD button used for?
To add an existing point, to a route
How is the RTM page accessed?
Through RTE, RTM
How should points be inserted into a rte?
Select Add on rte page
Select ‘in front of’ location for point
Select the point
WPT APPROACH will display on the UFD under what conditions?
1 min out based on current ground speed with neither crew station displaying a TSD. Selecting the TSD after the message is displayed will clear the message
