occlusal splints - nightguards
eliminate muscle spasms - diazepam, methocarbamol, cyclobenzaprine
Restore coordination - avoid clenching
NSAIDs - ibuprofen and naproxen

A
preauricular pain and tenderness w/ chewing spasm of mastication muscles abnormal anterior displacement click, pop, snap crepitus limited jaw opening and locking hx of daytime or nighttime jaw clenching
