Cells that do the same job that join together.
What makes an organ?
Different tissue.
Functions:
Heart…
… pump blood around the blood vessels of the body.
Lungs…
… to breathe in air and exchange gases.
Stomach…
… to mechanically and chemically, with hydrochloric acid, break down food.
Liver…
… to process toxins and produce enzymes.
Kidneys…
… they filter waste from blood.
Brain…
… to control all processes and signal to/from nerves.
Small intestines…
…to absorb digested nutrients .
Large intestines…..
…..to absorb water and move undigested food for excretion, help your blood absorb food.
Sense organs e.g. eyes, ears, mouth….
….. to sense the things around you.
Reproductive organs…
…… to have babies.
Bladder…
….. to store urine.
