tissues Flashcards
What is Epithelial Tissue?
Epithelial Tissue forms the lining of organs, skin, and glandular tissue in order to protect, absorb, filter, and receive senses. Cells are tightly packed to form continuous sheets.
What is the Connective Tissue?
Connective Tissue supports and binds together other body tissues such as bones, cartilage, blood, adipose tissue, and tendons. Cells are loosely packed.
What is Muscular Tissue?
Muscular Tissue contracts and causes movement using the ability of extensibility(stretch) and elasticity(returning to normal length. There are three types: skeletal, cardiac, and smooth
What is Nervous Tissue?
Nervous Tissue makes up the brain, spinal cords, and nerves and responds to stimuli/transmits impulses. The nervous tissue is composed of neuron cells that send electrical signals in the body.
