How should you set up your Quant booklet?

A
  1. Flip to the last page and write “Extra” at the top
  2. Flip that page over - break the page into quadrants and write a “0” in the bottom rigth corner. Do this for the next 7 pages with increasing increments of 8 (0, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56)
  3. The 9th page (The one with 56 in the bottom right corner, will be split into 3 sections rather than 4)

The time amounts, listed in the bottom corner of each page, show you how much time you should have left after answer each question in the quadrant

Q

What do you do if you find yourself more than 3 minutes ahead of schedule, after completing a Quant booklet page?

A
  1. First, take a deep breath.
  2. Next, figure out what you need to do to work more methodically.
  3. Write all of your work down (especially if it’s math).
  4. Make yourself check for the proof in the RC passage—don’t just rely on memory.
  5. Slow down the rush. Rushing just causes careless mistakes.

Q

How should you set up your Verbal booklet?

A
  • Flip to the last page, split the page in half and write “0R” in the bottom right corner
    • 0 represents time left
    • R represents a R passage per set of 9
  • On the top half of that page write out A,B,C,D,E once on the far left
  • Next write out A, for the remaining 8 problems on that page
    • Try to leverage the A,B,C,B,D,E write out spaces on the following problems on that page to avoid having to write it out for each
  • Follow the same same process for the next 3 pages, with increasing time in increments of 16 (0, 16, 32, 48)
  • If you have 2 Reading passages per set of 9 problems, expect to be 2 minutes behind on that section
