Waiting time between activities
Lead
Activities are moved closer together or overlap (negative time)
Crashing
Adding resources to the project duration. This adds cost to the project
Fast Tracking
Allows project phases to overlap to reduce the project duration. This adds risk to the project
Free float
Amount of time an activity can be delayed without delaying the next activities start date
Total Float
Amount of time an activity can be delayed without delaying the project’s end date
Finish-to-start
Task A must complete before Task B can begin. The most common relationship
Start-to-start (SS)
Task A must start before Task B can start. This allows both activities to happen in tandem.
Finish-to-finish (FF)
Task A must complete before task B does. Ideally they both finish at the same exact time but this is not always possible.
Start-to-Finish (SF)
Task A must start so task B may finish. It is also known as Just-In-Time scheduling
