Hardwood tends to have a tighter grain and is denser / harder

Mahogany, Teak, Ash and Beech

Felled (cut down)
What happens to fell a tree?
The bark is removed and then the trunk is sawn up either slab or quarter sawn
What makes felled wood stronger and less likely to rot / twist?
Seasoned (drying it)
What will happen when s tree is felled in a sustainably managed forest?
A new tree will be replanted to replace it
