Define Braxton Hicks Contractions.
Irregular & painless contractions that last less than 60 seconds; prepares uterine muscles for labor.
Identify the difference between presumptive, probable & positive signs.
Presumptive: no period, nausea & vomiting, fatigue, increased urination, breast changes, quickening and increased pigmentation.
Probable: +pregnancy test, enlarged abdomen, Heagar sign (softening of uterus), Chadwick sign (bluish vagina), Goodall sign (softening of cervical lips), ballottement (fetus rebound), palpable fetal outline and Braxton Hicks.
Positive: FHT, fetal movement and fetal sonography.
