subtotal thyroidectomy - complications
A
2 acute:
bleeding
thyroid crisis - fast AF, hyperthermia
2 damage to local:
hypoPTH - hypocalcaemia
recurrent laryngeal nerve damage
2 common:
30% late hypothyroidism
15% recurrent hyperthyroidism
