A

deep, hoarse voice
goitre - hashimoto’s
peaches + cream, puffy face, periorbital oedema
dry, cold, scaly skin + dry, coarse hair/loss + eyebrow
slow pulse + bicep jerk relaxation
myxoedema - backs of hands

subtotal thyroidectomy - complications

A

2 acute:
bleeding
thyroid crisis - fast AF, hyperthermia

2 damage to local:
hypoPTH - hypocalcaemia
recurrent laryngeal nerve damage

2 common:
30% late hypothyroidism
15% recurrent hyperthyroidism
