Batavian Republic proclaimed January 1795. Peace of Basel April 1795. Spanish sued for peace in July 1795.
Rising of Germinal
1 April 1795 - 10,000 sans-culottes. Pichegru takes command of Paris under martial law.
Rising of Prairial
20/21 May 1795 - 20,000 sans-culottes and National Guard. 42 National Guard and 6 deputies executed.
Rising of Vendemiaire
5 October 1795 - Royalist anger after September constitution plebiscite. Rumours of Comte d’Artois landing. 25,000 armed Parisians V. Napoleon’s 5/6,000 troops + 40 cannon. 300 royalists killed with a ‘whiff of grapeshot’.
