Q

How does a SAA round work?

A

Round goes in to the chamber. The bolt is locked to stop rearward movement of the case. The firing pin strikes the primer, the flame flashes through the flash holes to ignite the propellant. The propellant burns and builds up pressure and expands the cart case to provide rearward obturation. The bullet engages with the rifling and creates forward obturationThe bullet is held firmly in the cart case to ensure a high start pressure builds up before it moves up the barrel. Riffling in the barrel imparts spin. Gases are used to re-cycle auto and semi auto weapons.
