What is Functionalsism?
Functionalism is a structural perspective that views social order as based on value consensus.
Individuals are integrated into the system through socialisation and social control.

The Proletariat are legally separated from the means of production & Sell their labor
Competition forces capitalism to pay the lowest wage possible, causing immiseration of the proletariat
Capitalism continually expands the forces of production in pursuit of profit

Rejects Economic determinization as an explanation of change and belives that an economic crisis would cause an uprising of the proletariat

Theres not just an Economic Base and super structure that makes up capitalist society.
