What was the Nagorno-Karabagh problem?
Armenian nationalists in Azerbaijan wanted to reunite with Armenia. Requested a redrawing of Borders to include the Nagorno-Karabagh region. Direct control from Moscow was imposed which resulted in mass migration. Both demanded independence from the USSR.
