In 1948 the United Nations created human rights these are the guys going to the rights that all humans should get because they are human, these rights weren’t made law until 1998 which is the human rights act

A

Consumers of products are protected by the ‘Sales of Goods Act’ which says that products must be:
Of a decent quality without faults or damage
Do what the manufacturer claims it will
Match the description given on packaging

Rights at work to be paid minimum wage, not be discriminated against and be safe at work

You have rights as a tenant when renting a home that the property you rent will be safe to live in, and that your rent won’t be increased by your landlord without notice

State 3 examples of how young people are effected by civil law

A

16 and 17 year olds get minimum wage of £3.79

When people under the age of 18 commit offences the matter is taken to the youth court which is meant to be less intimidating and offensive

What’s an an ASBO and what’s the outcome if you break it?

A

It stands for an Anti Social Behaviour Order. It is a civil order which is given to stop people from taking part in antisocial behaviour ę.g nosiness, spitting or harrasment. If the order is broken it’s a crime and you can be given a custodial sentence
