Avoiding going somewhere or using a particular service to show disapproval for an issue
Eg from 1955-1956 The Montogonery Bus Boycott took place which demonstrated the disapproval of the racial segregation on buses following the arrest of Rosa Parks an African American who refused to give up her seat to a white person.
It was successful as the United States Supreme Court declared the Alabama and Montgomery laws requiring segregation in buses to be unconstitutional
