Where do the kidneys lie?

A

On the posterior wall of the abdomen in the right and left hypochondriac regions from vertebrae T12-L3. The right kidney is usually lower than the left.

A

They are separated by the dome of the diaphragm, but the top of the kidneys is level with the inferior plural border.

A
