What is the pericardium?

A

A thin, two layered fluid-filled sac that covers the outer surface of the heart. It provides lubrication for the heart.

What is the aorta?

A

The systemic outflow from the heart.

A

Rises from the left ventricle of the heart and forms the arch of aorta at the level of T4.

A

Branches to the head, neck and upper limbs then descends through the thorax and abdomen to terminate at the common iliac arteries- which then supply the pelvis and legs
