Q

Explain why Galileo observations could not be explained using the geocentric model

A

Galileo saw objects orbit around Jupiter and not the earth which proved that showed the earth could not be in the centre

Q

What is meant by the Big Bang

A

All of space and time expanded from something smaller than an atom, Big Bang explains why galaxies are moving apart and why galaxies are further away are moving faster. Big Bang is the beginning of everything and how the world was created.

Q

How do satellites get into orbit

A

They launch a satellite by attaching it to a rocket. Fuel burns inside the rocket and pushes the waste out the bottom. (This push is a part of an interaction pair) There is a force of the rocket on gases and force of gases on the rocket. There is also a force between the rocket and earth when the force of the air on the rocket is bigger than the force of the earth on the rocket, it will take off

Q

What are 3 safety precautions you should take before handling radioactive substances

A

Protective clothing
Don’t come into direct contact with it
Don’t use it for a long period of time
If you can’t run away, hide from it the source your hiding behind can absorb the radioactive particles

17
Q

What does current mean

A

Flow of charge

18
Q

What is electromagnetic induction

A

When a magnet moves out the coil the polarity of the induced voltage reverses and the current flows in the opposite direction

19
Q

Ways to make an electromagnet stronger

A

Increase number of turns of coil in the wire
Higher voltage
Use an iron core or something that conduct electricity
