Q

Are the noble gases reactive? Does the reactivity increase or decrease as you go from bottom to top of the periodic table?

A

They are basically u reactive however the reactivity does increase a little bit as you go for t he bottom of the group upwards

Q

Does the density increase or decrease as you go down the Noble gases group?

A

If increases which is why you fill balloons with helium because it is the lightest gas

Q

Why are group one metals so reactive?

A

Because they only have 1 electron and they are working hard to get rid of that one electron

Q

Why is group 0 called 0?

A

It would be called group 8 as they all have 8 electrons on their outer shell except helium that’s why it can’t be called 8

Q

If an unknown substance turns the universal indicator or age what does it mean? Is it a Alkali or Acid is it a metal or non-metal?

A

It would be a non-metal because an acidic solution (acid) turns the scale orange. If it was a metal it would be an alkali and it would turn the scale either a blue or purple

Q

What is displacement?

A

Say you had fluoride water and you mixed it with potassium floride you wouldn’t get a chemical reaction because they have the same element in them but if you mixed it with something such as potassium chloride it would have a chemical reaction because the floride is more reactive (powerful) than the chloride so it gives it the power as such to make a chemical reaction. You have to think of it as is it the incharge older brother or is it the little sister
