La hora
What verb is used when saying the time?
Ser - for 1pm we use ‘es’, and for the rest of the hours which are plural, we use ‘son’

What order is time told? (2 options)
Hour then the minutes i.e., ‘It’s five forty-five’ = ‘Son las cinco y cuarenta-y-cinco’ …
OR
by using the minutes missing for the next hour, i.e., ‘It’s a quarter to six’ = ‘faltan (missing) quince para las sies’
When using the minutes missing for the next hour (i.e. quarter to six), what word is needed?
Falta/Faltan (missing)
‘Falta un cuarto para las sies’ = ‘missing a quarter for the 6’, or ‘Faltan quince para las seis’ = ‘missing 15 for the 6’
