If a singular noun ends in a vowel, what is added to make it plural?
‘-s’ at the end
If a singular noun ends in a consonant, what is added to make it plural?
‘-es’ at the end
If a singular noun ends in a ‘z’, what is added to make it plural?
Replace the ‘z’ with a ‘c’ and add ‘-es’ to the end i.e ‘luz’ becomes ‘luces’
If a singular noun ends in a ‘s’, what is added to make it plural?
Leave it as it is
If a singular noun ends in a ‘ry’, what is added to make it plural?
Usually these are foreign words adapted to Spanish. take away the ‘y’ and add ‘is’, i.e. ‘ferry’ becomes ‘ferris’
Talk talking about a group with the same surname, how do we address the plural - i.e. ‘We are the Zambranos?’
Do not add ‘s’, keep the surname as is without adding anything indicative of plural - ‘somos los Zambrano’

‘The’ - used when talking about people, animals and things. They follow the number and gender rule, (el/la/los/las).
What is an indefinite article?
A/an/some. Follows the gender and number rule, (un/unos/una/unas)
When ‘a’ follows ‘el’, what is the rule? (‘a el’ = ‘to the)
Contract the word - making ‘al’
When ‘de’ follows ‘el’, what is the rule? (‘de el’ = ‘of/from the)
Contract the word - making ‘del’
