How was Ebert’s success w/ dealing with the threat to the Republic from left-wing revolutionaries paid at a high price?
He had put his government into the hands of the army and the Freikorps, neither to be trusted as loyal and he had fatally undermined the position of the Social Democrats as the representatives of the working classes.
