what is the erector muscle ?
A
the muscle under the skin that makes the hair follicles erect

what is vasoconstriction?
A
when the blood vessels get smaller in daimeter so less blood can go through them so less heat is lost

what is vasodialation?
A
when the blood vessels get thicker in diameter so more blood can go through therefore, loss of heat

how does the skin keep itself warm when its cold?
A
. vasoconstriction - prevents loss of heat
. erector muscle - hairs become erect trap warm air on the surface
. shivering - muscle contraction cause heat to be produced

A
. hairs lay flat
. vasodialation - loss of heat
. sweat produces from sweat gland evaportaion means surface of skin loses heat
