The Scientific Method Flashcards
Hypothesis
An educated guest used to explain something based on prior knowledge
Variable
A measurement or observation that changes during an investigation
Method
A list of clear instructions anyone can follow
Results
The outcome you observe/measure during your investigation
Conclusion
Summary of your results & explains whether they support or contradict your hypothesis
(What would you do next)
Correlation
When you see a relationship between 2 variables
Control
And experiments where you don’t make any changes to the independent variable and measure what happens to the dependent variable
Independent variable
A factor I changed to see what happens

A fact, I measure in response to the change I made
(from independent variable)
