What are the five parts of the female reproductive system?
Ovaries, Uterus, Cervix, Vagina, and Fallopian Tubes
What do the ovaries do?
Produce the eggs
What do the fallopian tubes do?
Passes the egg through to the uterus
What does the uterus do?
stores and protects the developing foetus
What is the cervix?
the cervix is the opening of the uterus
what does the vagina do?
expels unfertilised eggs, it is also where sperm enters
What are the seven parts of the male reproductive system?
Testes, epididymis, vas deference, scrotum, urethra, seminal vesicle and prostate gland
what do the testes do?
produce sperm
what does the epididymis do?
stores the sperm
What does the vas deference do?
passes sperm through to the urethra
what does the scrotum do?
holds the testes
What do the seminal vesicle and prostate gland do?
adds liquid to the sperm
what does the urethra do?
expels sperm
What is the purpose of reproduction?
The purpose of reproduction is to create new life (offspring) and continue the species
