Who determines the sex of the offspring and why?
A
The male does. The male sperm can either carry an X or Y chromosome, whereas the female can only carry the X chromosome. As a result, it depends on whether the sperm with the X or Y chromosome makes contact with the egg. XX (girl) or XY (boy)
