• ran out of resources
• Decided to launch boats to destroy the American boats that were delivering resources to Britain - bringing America into the war on Britain’s side in 1917. America was strong as it was new to the war whereas Germany had been fighting for 4 years
• Due to lack of supplies, launched a final attack but the allies were able to fight back and launch their own attack which broke the German lines, winning the war.
