the reactivity series Flashcards
metals extracting with carbon extracting with electricity
what will happen with iron sulphate+sodium?
It will turn into sodium sulphate+iron
This is because of displacement, sodium is stronger than iron
what will happen to zinc nitrate+ tin?
it will stay the same because tin is weak and so its not strong enough to displace zinc
write the word equation for the answer of magnesium and copper sulphate
magnesium sulphate + copper
write the word equation answer for magnesium and lead nitrate
magnesium nitrate + lead
write a word equation the answer for magnesium and lead sulfate
magnesium sulfate + lead
Tin oxide and copper—»>?
would stay the same so tin oxide+copper
Gold and copper oxide—-»>?
it would stay the same so gold+copper oxide
Calcium and copper oxide—–»>?
calcium oxide+ copper
Where do metals come from?
they can be found naturally e.g gold
they are also made from combined elements, can be found as metal ore
How does carbon extract metals
if the metals more reactive than carbon cant be extracted from their ores by carbon.
Copper carbonate and carbon—»>?
carbon dioxide+ copper
Magnesium oxide and carbon—»>?
it would stay the same, magnesium oxide+ carbon
Zinc sulphate and carbon—–»>?
carbon sulphate+ zinc
Potassium oxide and carbon—-»>?
it would stay the same, potassium oxide+ carbon
Lead sulphate and carbon—–»>?
Carbon sulphate+ lead
