Initially when the writer used to live in a village, his grandmother used to get him ready. And after breakfast they used to walk to school. While the narrator learned and recited alphabets an prayers grandmother used to read scriptures in the nearby temple. When it is time to go back home on the way they used to feed the stray dogs.
What was the turning point of the grandmother’s and the narrator’s relationship ?
The turning point came when they shifted to the city, while they still shared the same room the narrator used to go to an English school in a motor bus and Grandmother used to sit a home it took on to feed sparrows due to the absence of stray dogs.
Why was the thought of Grandmother being pretty revolting to the narrator?
Such an idea was revolting because he had knew his grandmother since 20 years and she had not aged any other that she already is. Her face was filled with wrinkles, and her white hair everywhere. An hand on her waist and the other having rosy she was slightly bent and is always busy in her inaudible prayers.
In what way did the narrator describe grandmother as beautiful
He compared grandmother to a winter stricken mountain which is filled with white just like the spotless white saree she wore. She was like a symbol of peace and calm come to live.
Why was grandmother upset about the narrator’s education?
The new English school the narrator used to attend didn’t teach anything related to god or spirituality along with that she was no longer able to help him. Apart from that they also taught music at school which made grandmother more upset and resolve to silence.

During her last moments she chose to worship god instead of wasting time talking to people.

After grandmother’s death the sparrows came to mourn her death and left as she was taken away for further rituals.
