What is the storyline of “The Address”?
The story “The Address’ is a story revolving around the time of War in Holland. When the writer’s mother it connects with one of her old acquaintance Mrs. Dowling, who out of the blue offers help to safe keep all the antiques in their house until the war was over. But at the vary end she refused to return it back.
Why did Mrs. Dowling refused to recognise the writer initially?
Mrs. Dowling refused to recognise the writer with a fear of loss of all her current possessed antiques. She was very careful to not let the writer take a hint of her recognition.
What confirmed the writer that she has reached the right Address?
Mrs. Dowling was wearing a green cardigan with wooden buttons that belonged to her mother’s. This encounter that confirmed the Address.
Why does Mrs Dowling hastily get rid of the writer ?
She wanted the writer to leave as soon as possible and also doesn’t want her family to find out about her. Also she was not ready to give the antiquities back.

She noticed that a few of the antainquies that use to fill the house were missing and that is when her mother told her about Mrs Dowling
Who suggested that idea of transferring the things to Mrs.Dowling’s house?
Mrs. Dowling herself suggested that all the antainquies should be transferred to her house for safe keeping as they are to precious to lose.
What happened when the writer visited Mrs.Dowling the second time?
When she visited the second time, she was invited in for a tea by Mrs.Dowling’s daughter. She was greeted with a sight that is really familiar to her but yet strange . She saw all her mother’s possession which were arranged in a random manner which made her feel uncomfortable.
Why did the the writer at the end decided to leave everything a move on?
Ant the end of the day the writer decided to more on because after seeing all the thing again they did not old the same values they did before that were familiar but yet strange . And apart from that she niter had the space to keep all of these items.
Why did she say that the address was much easier to forget that that rest?
All the things at that address held a significant value in the writer’s but somehow seeing the items out of order made the item lose its value thus, the address no longer holds anything that is important to her anymore.
