How does age increase the risk of cardiovascular disease?
As you age, so do your blood vessels. They become less flexible, making it harder for blood to move through them easily. Fatty deposits called plaques also collect along your artery walls and slow the blood flow from the heart.

What is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. It occurs most frequently in the hands, hips, and knees. With OA, the cartilage within a joint begins to break down and the underlying bone begins to change.

Common conditions in older age include hearing loss, cataracts and refractive errors, back and neck pain and osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression, and dementia.
What is dementia?
Though dementia mostly affects older adults, it is not a part of normal aging. It is the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interferes with doing everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia.
