what is the pharynx made up of
A
muscular tube that is made up of 3 constrictor muscles and 3 extrinsic muscles

what are the 3 constrictor muscles
A
- Superior: originates from the medial pterygoid plate and the pterygomandibular raphe.
- Middle: arises from the angle between the lesser and greater horns of the hyoid bone.
- Inferior: arises from the oblique line on the lateral surface of the thyroid cartilage and the fascia covering the Cricothyroid muscle.
