Explain the difference views on Monotheism.
Christians believe that there is only one God but that he is made up of three persons. These three persons are know. As the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is seen as the creator of the world.
What do all Christians believe about God?
All Christians agree that God is loving and powerful despite the suffering that goes on in this world.
What is the greatest evidence of God’s Love?
They believe when He took human form and revealed Himself on Earth as Jesus. Jesus’ life fulfils God’s promise of salvation and reveals more about what Christians believe will happen after death.
What are the main characteristics of God?
God is Eternal without end or beginning.
God is outside time-atemporal
God is in control of both time and space as He created it.
What does Omniscient mean?
God is omniscient meaning- He knows everything
What does Transcendent mean?
Transcendent meaning above all created things.
1) God is outside the world
2) God is not active in human affairs
What does immanent mean?
Immanent meaning He is involved with the world and human lives.
What does Benevolent mean?
Benevolence showing kindness and love at all times. Shown to be in relationships with people through prayer.
What does Omnipotent mean?
Omnipotent- all powerful. Had the power to perform MIRACLES and become a human being INCARNATE.
Why would it not be possible in God’s nature to lie or bring evil?
Because He is good and loving “Omnibenevolent ”. He cannot do anything that is evil and He does not lie.
What do Christians believe about God’s perfect nature and omniscience
Gos’s perfect nature and omniscience ensures that He is a fair and righteous judge of humans.
What makes God personal?
God is often shown to be in relationships with people through prayer, visions and the presence of the Holy Spirit. So Christianity understand Him to be personal God.
Recall what Psalm 96:13 talks about God being Judgemental.
‘Let all creation rejoice before the Lord for he comes to judge the Earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the people in his faithfulness”
Recall what the Jeremiah 10:10talks about God being True.
‘But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry the Earth trembles: the nations cannot endure his wrath.’
Recall Revelation 1:8 describing God as almighty.
‘I am the Alpha and the Omega who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty”
