What was the past distribution of cold environments?
A
Pleistocene, a geological period that lasted from about 1.8 million years ago until about 11,700 years ago. During this time there were alternating patterns of cold and warm periods.
During cold glacial periods this resulted in the formation and growth of huge ice masses. Which in the Northern hemisphere spread over large parts of Europe, Asia and North America.
