Sustainable tourism is becoming a growing industry, helping to reduce the effects humans have on their trips to fragile cold environments. Charities such as WWF are promoting sustainable alpine
tourism in order to protect these areas.
e.g tourists are educated on the risks to cold environments and contribute to charities which protect.

• Example: Antarctic Treaty and Madrid protocol have banned mining in Antarctica. Ban on fishing and military activity.
