Q

Why are deserts so dry?

A

The air which decends over deserts are dry. The air is dry because almost all the moisture in the air has fallen as precipitation over the equators tropical rainforests. The air travels over land so it cannot pick ip any moisture. This mean there is no clouds forming.

But, at night most of the heat in the sand quickly radiates into the air and there is no sunlight to reheat it, leaving the sand and its surroundings colder than before.
