Daniels case
Metis were considered S(91) and the Feds became responsible for them but they still weren’t considered status-Indians. A man was fishing for eels out of season and was arrested. In court they opened up a much bigger problem of treaty rights and indigenous rights being used.

Metis were promised land and took Crown to court and were given money to compensate for the courts time,
