What is Conflict?
A struggle between a Character and another character, or society, or fate, etc…
What Conflict does the Princess face?
Self struggle, she was choosing whether to save her lover’s life.
What is a Summary?
A short recap of the most important events.
What is the Summary of “The Lady, or the Tiger?”
In “The Lady, or the Tiger?” a princess finds herself with the power to choose the fate of her lover, a commoner, who stands condemned in the barbaric arena of her father, the King. Will her love direct him to choose the door behind which waits a beautiful lady to be his bride, or will her jealousy direct him to choose the door behind which paces the ferocious tiger? The reader is left to decide.
How do you Summarize a Section or Paragraph?
You use your own words and you make a brief statement of the main ideas.
What is a Literary Device?
A Literary Technique which refers to methods authors use to convey what they want. This distinguishes them from Literary Elements, which exist inherently in Literature.
What is Imagery?
Use of descriptive imagery in Literature as a Literary Device.
What is Contrast?
Use of dissimilar words in Literature as a Literary Device.
