pathogens can invade the body and enter the bloodstream
What happens when pathogens are in the body
can multiply and damage tissue
What do bacteria release?

What happens to use when the toxins are out?
this makes you feel unwell
What are the two things the immune system does?

-destroys pathogens and the toxins they produce
What can white blood cells do?
ingest and destroy pathogens
What do white blood cells detect?
chemical release from the pathogen and move to toward it
What do white blood cells use to destroy pathogens?
enzymes
What are antibodies?
protein molecules produced by white blood cells
What are antibodies extremely?
are extremely specific
What is an example of specific antibodies?
measles- develop antibodies against the measle virus
