What was the Hebrew Bible
Another name meaning holy scriptures sacred to the Jewish culture. It’s also known as the Tanakh.
Who was Moses?
Moses was of Egyptian decent who later became a prophet in Hebrew text.
Who was David?
David was the youngest of eight boys who became the eventual King and successor to Saul, replacing Samuel.
When did Babylonian exile start?
At around 586/7 B.C after the conquest of Judah, all of the Jews were exiled out of Babylon.
What is Monotheism?
The belief that there is only one God.
What was the significance of the Phoenicians?
The Phoenicians lived along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, who established sea trading and created a 22 letter alphabet.
How did Judaism compare and contrast with the other religions of the ancient world?
The religion of Judaism was unique from other religions because it focused on one God, rather than multiple gods. Jews believed that everyone had spiritual access to god rather than that of exclusively religious figures.
Who was Abraham?
The first of many biblical patriarchs who played an important role in the religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
