- Cuts off the Syrian supply as runs through Syria so Syria and Iraq strongly disagree with project
- Holds back economic development and food production in these countries
Why is there conflict?
Different users of the same water supply (Jordan river) and a number of demands on it
Water transfer from one region to another - Syria’s Golan heights to Israel
Environmental issues so ecosystems cannot be sustained with extraction from the Dead Sea
