There are two ways of describing actions in the future. What are they?
- The ‘going to’ future
2. The ‘will’ future (the proper future tense)
How do you form the ‘going to’ future?
The present tense of aller (to go) plus the infinitive of whichever verb you want
Conjugate the following:
I am going to go out You (informal) are going to see She is going to read We (formal) are going to learn You (plural) are going to cry They (male) are going to play
Je vais sortir Tu vas voir Ella va lire Nous allons apprendre Vous allez pleurer Ils vont jouer
How do you form the ‘will’ future (the actual future tense) for regular verbs? Is this the same for all verb types (-er, -ir, -re)?
The infinitive of the verb plus the future ending.
However, with -re verbs, you remove the -e from the infinitive and add the future ending.
