arguments against giving 16 year olds the right to vote?
deferred representation- representation only delayed until 18. 18 year old voters are likely to be in touch w 16/17 year olds.
immature voters- until 18, most young people are in full time education and continue to live w their parents. Not full citizens and education incomplete

fundamental right- right to vote is fundamental right that cant be removed
European rulings-EU court of human rights ruled that a blanket ban of prisoners vote violates HRA

undermines justice- giving convicted criminals the right to have a say in how laws are made undermines the principle of justice
constituencies undermined- prisoners are concentrated in certain constituencies where they are unlikely to remain once free, not be able to choose local representative for communities
