What is Shahaddah

A

The declaration of faith in Allah
The first and most important duty of every Muslim is to declare their faith in Allah
A person must proclaim with their lips and believe with their heart
The first part consists of a negative and positive aspect, “there is no other God” (negative) “but Allah’ the positive aspect affirming the truth and certainty of Allah” (positive)
Saying these Arabic words is Shahaddah.
It is repeated every day by Muslims first thing in the morning as they wake and just before sleeping.
The words from the heart of the call to prayer used to summon Muslims to pray five times each day.
The call for prayer is also the first words whispered in a baby’s ear
The last words before dying should similarly summarise that the Muslim believes that Allah is one and that Muhammed is the servant and messenger.

What is zakar?

A

Muslims are expected to be charitable on hospitality.
Muslims are expected to share their income and wealth as a matter of duty
