What is the function of the cornea?
The cornea refracts light.

The iris controls how much light enters the eye.

The pupil is the hole that allows light to enter the eye.
What is the function of the lens?
The lens changes shape to focus light onto the retina.
What is the function of the retina?
The retina contains light receptor cells. Rod and cone cells.
What is the function of the optic nerve?
The optic nerve is a sensory neurone that carries impulses between the eye and brain.
What is the function of the suspensory ligaments?
The suspensory ligaments are used for accommodation.
They loosen/slacken when an object is close.
They tighten when an object is far away.
What is the function of the ciliary muscles?
The ciliary muscles are used for accommodation.
They contract when the object is close.
They relax when the object is far away.
