What is literal/tactile texture?
This is texture that you can feel with your fingertips e.g. Smooth or bumpy.
Explain what glazing is.
A painting created by using very thin layers of oil paint mixed with varnish.
What is splatter work?
Using a toothbrush/hard paint brush , you put paint onto the the brush and then by rubbing your finger over the bristles you, spray the paint onto the paper:board
What is impasto?
A painting created by using very thick layers and dabs of paint. Mostly done by using a palette knife to spread the paint onto the canvas
What is scumble?
Colour lightly brushed over a textured surface so that it partially covers it. You can use a crumpled pieces of paper and then dab into paint.
What is frottage?
Is when an artist does a rubbing of an object, so that the literal/tactile texture is transferred onto the paper.
What is collage?
Is a technique whereby the artist sticks down textured materials onto a flat surface.
What is the definition of texture?
It is the surface quality of an object;it is how an object feels to touch.
