What is an organic shape?
Irregular, not easily measured, seen in nature, doesn’t normally have corners or angles.
What are geometric shapes?
Easily measured, regularly curved or has straight sides, mathematically perfect, man made.
What is the definition of shape?
It describes the two-dimensional appearance or outline of an object.
Give the definition of a figurative shape, give one example
A shape that shows something you can recognize e.g. Ice cream
What is a non-figurative or amorphous shape?
Shapes that are abstract; don’t look recognisable.
May be distorted, is simplified or from someone’s imagination
What is a complete shape?
Where an outline of an object lines up where it started. There are no gaps/ breaks in the outline
What is an incomplete shape
Where the outline of a shape is is not continuous and outline appears broken. Looks unfinished broken
