Mental health prevalence and LGBTQ +
Evidence suggests people who are apart of LGBT are particularly at risk of experiencing MHP. Higher prevalence related to wide range of factors including : discrimination, stigmatisation and homophobia .
a British survey of nearly 7000 respondents found 1/10 gay men, bisexual men aged 16-19 have tried to take their own life in year prior to study.
Survey found 1/7 bi or gay men were experiencing moderate to severe levels of mixed depression and anxiety
The UK survey and LGBT
Found Bi women have poorer MH than lesbian women, with higher rates of marijuana use, eating disorders , self harming, anxiety and depression.

1/5 LGBT young people consider themselves to have a MH condition, with high levels of poor MH reported by transgender individuals and bi women
