Q

What was the Cross a sign of?

‘Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. ‘

Luke 9:23

A

The Cross- was a place of execution, death. Carrying the cross was a
sure sign of impending death. We must die on our own cross, daily. At
the cross, we must surrender all self-seeking interests that does not
coincide with the Word and the will of God for our lives.

Yes, Absolute surrender is required! The opinion of others do not matter

Q

Can you have other “gods” in your life when being committed to God?

‘They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. ‘

Romans 1:25

A

No, when you are committed, you can not assign other people or things as
gods in your life. It dishonors God when we give first place to anyone
and anything else above and before Him.
